Hiring A Hypnotist For High School Prom And Graduation

It’s that time of the year again. Parents of high schoolers are scrambling to find activities for their post-prom and grad night lock-ins. They’re checking the Yellow Pages™ for casino games, inflatable jumps, portable miniature golf courses and whatever else will keep young men and women with short attention spans busy for an hour or two.

Well, one of the most entertaining activities for both students and parents is a stage hypnotist. As I’ve blogged before, hypnotists come in all shapes and sizes. There is the magician who has taken another magician’s stage hypnosis course and has become a"Certified Stage Hypnotist” (what ever that means). Many of them can do a passable show. Then you have the moonlighting hypnotherapist who are most likely fairly decent at inducing the hypnotic state but most of them are lacking in crowd control skills and entertainment value.

But your best choice is the full-time stage hypnotist. That’s what they primarily do. They don’t spend the majority of their professional lives twisting balloons at kid’s birthday parties or helping people stop smoking, although those are both applaudable pursuits. The full-time professional hypnotists are skilled at inducing mass hypnosis and will probably do a good job keeping the kids occupied for an hour or so. The best way to find these folks is by googling or asking the parents who planned last years party. Make sure the hypnotist can and will do a “clean” show. Some stage hypnotist bill themselves as X or R-rated performers and since you can’t be positive that a part of their X or R-material might accidently pop into their show, it’s probably best to aviod these performers. Why tempt fate?

Once you’ve found somebody check out any letters of recommendation they may have as well as a video of part of their show, if possible. Expect to spend around $1500.00 for a good, experienced entertainer that is comfortable and competent with the high school crowd. And one who’ll come out and entertain your troops at 2 a.m. It’s well worth the money. Your kids will have something to talk about for years to come and most importantly, you parents get an hour or so of well-deserved “break time” during the night that may be one of the longest and most exhausting in your life.

Spenser Wants To Say "Hello"

Okay. Spenser’s been a little jealous of Pookie and Cocoa and wants his picture on my blog too. So here he is. Spenser came from Lap Dog Rescue. If you don’t have a lot of room or a big yard you can still adopt a compact, space-saving dog with a big attitude like Spenser.image
