How To Not Have A Crappy Company Party - Part 5 - Picnic Entertainment
It’s natural to think about entertainment when planning your big, yearly company party. But most companies don’t think about entertainment when planning a company picnic. The planners assume the volleyball net and horseshoe pit will keep everyone happily diverted.
Not usually. Especially most company picnics are different from more formal company parties in a very important way; kids are there. With their parents or parent. Keeping the kids entertained so the parents can still have fun both with their children and away from them is crucial.
A clown, magician, face painter, balloon artist or game coordinator are great ideas to keep the young ones occupied. Or maybe a sing-along musician or a jump? Keep the children in mind when planning a company picnic. Keeping them active and amused will make your picnic fun for both the children and their parents.
And speaking of parents and other adults, how about some entertainment for them too? They may enjoy a magic show with their children, but how about more adult oriented entertainment for the grownups? A walk-around “psychic reader”, perhaps? Maybe something active like a rock climbing wall? Even a band. Who says you can’t dance in the park?
I’ve even done my stage hypnosis show at a few company picnics. The teens and tweens really get involved with a hypnotist show! And you know how hard it can be to get them involved with anything.
So, make this year’s picnic one to remember with professional entertainment. The children (and their parents) will thank you for it!
