Spring Training In Tucson, Arizona

Man, I’m looking forward to this trip! I get to do my standup comedy show (as opposed to hypnosis) this weekend at Laff’s Comedy Club in Tucson and attend a Diamondbacks/Royals pre-season game with my friend Hippieman. What a perfect weekend trip!

George McKelvey R.I.P.

I started my stand-up career decades ago the way most comedians start; at open mic night. The club I started at was George McKelvey’s Comedy Club in Denver. I got my first paid club gig at George’s, opening for Paula Poundstone.

George and his wife Carole were mentioned several times by Steve Martin in his book, Born Standing Up. His video, My Teenage Fallout Queen, is on youtube.

George died last night. The world is a little sadder place today. Rest in peace, George.
